Abstract

The National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 is one of the world’s largest rights-based social protection interventions, aimed at ensuring access to adequate food for approximately two-thirds of India’s population. This paper evaluates the impact of the NFSA on hunger eradication in India, examining coverage, affordability, administrative design, inclusion–exclusion dynamics, and nutritional outcomes.
